PILLIAR TRIM

Pillar Trim Adds Style To Your Ride

When you are looking for an inexpensive way to add a little class and flash to the exterior of your vehicle, the trim is a logical place to start. One of the areas where it can have the most visual impact is the b-pillars. Pillar trim is easy to install, looks amazing and won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Its an upgrade you can make to any car, truck or SUV. You won’t believe how effectively chrome pillar trim can transform the appearance of your vehicle.

The B-pillars serve an important purpose on your vehicle. They are located on both sides of your vehicle, just behind the front doors and windows. B-pillars provide roof support and mounting areas for the front door latch strikers and rear door hinges. Just because B-pillars play such an important role doesn’t mean you can’t make them more stylish. Some are already chrome covered while others are just painted. The good news is that if your vehicle doesn’t have factory chrome pillar trim covers it’s a simple matter to add them.

Installing chrome pillar trim couldn’t be easier. It is attached to your vehicle using 3M acrylic foam tape. This is the same process used at the factory and you never have to worry about it coming off. No special tools or equipment are required. Before applying the trim, wash the area by hand to remove any dirt and grime that might have collected on the B-pillars. After it dries, you can apply the trim cover. Let it set for at least 24 hours to ensure it adheres properly to your vehicle. If done correctly, you should never have worry about your new chrome trim coming off when you hit the road.

Depending on the type you choose, pillar covers can maintain their luster for years. Pillar trim covers that are made of 304 stainless steel have a high chromium count which makes it resistant to corrosion. 304 stainless steel is also mirror plated or triple-coated which helps it keep its shine. High-tech carbon fiber trim is also available but should only be used for limited applications. While not as durable as stainless steel, plastic and aluminum trim are options, too.

Any car, truck or SUV can benefit from the visual pop you get with pillar trim covers. The effect is immediate. It’s a fast and inexpensive way to take your vehicle from average to eye-catching.
